Symptoms of insomnia-lack of sleep can ruin your life

Lack of sleep can really have an effect on your life. Symptoms of insomnia are unmistakable. Memory loss and concentration, irritability and mood swings and poor coordination can be provided together with sickness and poor health.



There are a few different causes for the disorder, generally separated in a transitional type and most serious cases of chronic. You can have the primary sorting, where the poor sleep is the main concern or a secondary type, whereby a underlying reason is responsible for insomnia.



The most common definition is lying in bed for more than 45 minutes without drifting off. Counting sheep doesn't work. This may be caused by too much caffeine or exercise too close to bedtime

There is a range of over the counter, herbal and prescription medications available that will treat these symptoms. Addressing underlying issues will have a much more successful than the drugs though. You also avoid side issues common with sleeping pills. If symptoms of insomnia are really serious you should see a doctor.
