Treatment For Chronic Insomnia - Curing Insomnia

December 7, 2011 Labels: , , ,

The search for the best treatment for chronic insomnia has stumbled upon many interesting methods indeed. We're all familiar with drugs, sleeping pills which cause more harm than good, wearing off their effectiveness after one or two months while we develop dependencies. Aside from all that, there are methods such as binaural audio patterns, biofeedback mechanisms, hypnosis, self hypnosis through subliminal music listening, and so on. Some of these have a modicum of effect, others barely work at all or are too bothersome, and still others are just simply complete crocks.

In order to find the best treatment for this, chronic sufferers of insomnia need to understand a few simple facts. First, there are certain brainwave patterns for each mode of consciousness, be they the many modes of waking state thought, or those of the different levels of sleep. Those which are present in sleep, are primarily alpha waves (such as occurs during REM sleep, or Rapid Eye Movement, and while dreaming), and also beta and theta as well. Among the best treatment methods for chronic insomnia are those which use tones and pulses of sound to induce these brainwaves to promote better sleeping habits.

Binaural pulses have been used to this end, with more than adequate results... the only drawback of which seems to be the necessity for stereo headphones in order to implement this method of treatment. For those suffering chronic insomnia, one can imagine trying to sleep with headphones on, without them coming off or waking you up in the process. Isochronic tones and pulses work much better at inducing the right brainwave patterns which are conducive to sleep, and without the need for stereo headphones.
